Our Story
Iraklis Peristeriou was founded by a small group of coaches and athletes who shared a single idea: that wrestling could give young people in Peristeri more than medals — it could give them discipline, resilience, and a sense of belonging. What began as a handful of mats in a modest gym slowly grew into a full training academy, built one practice, one competition, and one graduating class of athletes at a time.
Today, our program welcomes wrestlers of every age and level, from first-time children stepping onto the mat to competitive athletes preparing for national tournaments. Our coaching staff blends traditional Greco-Roman and freestyle technique with modern strength and conditioning, always with an emphasis on fundamentals, safety, and steady long-term progress rather than shortcuts.
More than a training ground, Iraklis Peristeriou has become a second home for the families who walk through our doors. We compete together, celebrate together, and support one another through setbacks as much as victories. As we look ahead, our goal remains the same as it was on day one: to keep building a club that the whole community of Peristeri can be proud of, on and off the mat.
